Raman Shiksha Samiti is constantly working for the upliftment of the disabled. The organization is working for education, health and employment for the disabled. The institution has been running special school for mentally challenged people since the year 2009, the institution is trying to bring education and employment oriented training to the disabled people and make them self-reliant in the mainstream of society. The activities of the special school are as follows-

OBJECTIVES

  • To create manpower and develop human resources for      delivery of service to person with mentally and physical handicap.
  • To identify ,conduct and coordinate research in the area of  mental Retardation in the city.
  • To develop appropriate models of cars and habilitation for the mentally retarded person suitable to Indian culture .  
  • To develop community based . rehabilitation service in the rural and law income needy population .
  • To undertake extension and outreach programmes in the  field of physical and mentally retantation disability

  • To provide an opportunity to persons with physical & mentally retardation disability to discovers themselves and develop their potential.
  • To provide academics & special education.
  • Counseling of the disabled, their parents and family members.
  • To provide different type vocational training.
  • Arrangement of loans for self-employment, through banks and other financial institutions .
  • Promotion of barrier-free environment.
  • To provide supportive and complementary services to promote education, vocational training and employment for persons with disabilities through
  • Providing orientation training to teachers, communities  & families .                               
  • Providing training to persons with disabilities for early motivation & early stimulation for education, vocational training&employment.
  • Identifying suitable vocations for person with disabilities, keeping in view the local resources and designing and providing vocational training and identifying suitable jobs, so as to make them economically independent. Providing referral services for existing educational, training, vocational institutions.

Services Provided :

                             Organization provide best possible services. Following are the details of the services we provide to the students, parents and the public in general –

   Special Education :  Children with intellectual disability are assessed for current level of functioning in various skill areas such as self-help skills, gross and fine motor skills, functional reading and writing skills, time , money and related cognitive skills. Parents are involved in all stages of assessment, planning of an individualized educational programme and in the implementation of individualized educational programme various learning aids and appliances appropriate to Indian context are utilized. Computer assisted training modules are also utilized for needy.

                                              clients to speed up efficiency of the special education services. Individualized education is provided according to the disable persons mental age & chronological age . After access the disable persons current level of performance and them frame the whole education programme. Latest educational technologies are used for imparting education. In this world of internet technology computers give us wide range of educational material in an easy understandable manner.

Vocational Counseling  & Training  :

At organization we offer a numbers of activities which boosts the confidence of patients and explore their hidden talents as well. We do functional assessment of our trainees and place them in vocational training units where they learn skills that match their abilities and aptitude. Training is given in number of vocations .  Socio – economic rehabilitation of persons with physical and intellectual disability is  promoted through services of vocational training  and job placement. Adults with intellectual disability are given training in generic skills. Specific skills followed by on the job training. On the job training varies form one client to another depending upon the job opportunities. Available to the client in the locality where she/he lives follow-up support is provided to the client till she/ he is able to carry on the job independently at job site.

Parent Counseling & Guidance :  Parent counseling is done by providing emotional support and empathetic understanding to deal with their distress and guilt feelings arising due to their mentally retarded other disability persons  Appall-form tacking.  Misconceptions of parents, guidance is also given to understand the nature of intellectual disability and the needs of the Children at deferent stages of life so as to promote harmonious development of the Child in the  family setline. So this year organization has conducting parent teacher meeting on every third Saturday of the month in this counseling of parent of student is done and a sahedule programme is given to them for implementing at home .        Therapy is given daily so as to improve the capabilities and reduce the disabilities so as to optimize their potential for life full of quality & independence . Neurodevelopment Therapy, sensory integration therapy , group therapy , play therapy are provided as and when required other therapy as such……                                   

 Sports , Physical  Fitness  &  Therapy :

This program aims at all-round  development as well as builds motivation in a fun way through yoga, gym  exercises , sports and specialized therapies .The students participated in various events organized by special olympies at state and national levels .

Music Therapy : This therapy helps people with a number of disorder including neurological, mental (MR & mental ill ) behavioral disorder. 

Dance Therapy :This therapy help disable person improve self-esteem as well as develop better motor planning skills , socialization & group interaction skills.           

Meditation & Yoga :  Yoga’s aim is to prepare the body for meditation through breathing &physical exercises. It emphasizes body , mind wellness through postures , which tone & strengthen our muscles and increase our flexibility . Yoga helps develop cognitive and motor skills through movement and stretching . 

 Art & Craft :  Drawing and craft session are given to provide opportunities for self-expression to non-verbal students . Hobby development is very essential for the children as it brings in interest that arouses in them ,then natural urge to be appreciated .It also ignites their creativeness and creates interest & enthusiasm in learning new things.

Regular Health  Checkup Camp

Organization   has   organizing  regular checkup camps of all the children which was done by the doctors .
